i hope your koi pulls through it could be its swim bladder in which what you are doing know will help it stabilize feeding peas also helps by flushing the koi system out abit like us eating a block of exlax

Hi guys,

i am wondering if this koi might have some sort of metallic poisoning, i say this because i have had some old CD's flapping about near the edge of the pond suspended from the anti heron fishing wire that a lot of us have...i had noticed in the past what i thought were small shiny nails in the bottom of the pond - these nails were in fact small slithers of the CD;s metallic coating which overtime, has broken free from the actual CD and found itself into the pond and has maybe been eaten by the kio ( but bear in mind that its only this one kio thats suffering )......its just a thought , but what do ya think?

Cheers Kev

Ps...the shiny nails have been vac'd out of the pond.

Well Guys, it is sad news that i have for you...the old boy didnt make it and died in Q this afternoon. He was still on his side floating at the top and over a period of a few hours his gill movement was becoming such that it was obvious he was'nt going to recover.

Just wish i knew what caused the problems for him but i did what i could for him,.... i really am flummoxed as to why his eyes receeded back into his eye sockets though.

Thanks for all your input on this one guys..

Cheers all
Kev

There ought to be a better way to start the day than by getting up in the morning.
