The Shiro Utsuri is the Koi with the highest contrast in colour, you cannot get further apart on the colour spectrum. In recent years the main Koi in the Utsurimono group has been the Shiro Utsuri and its popularity has seen it become the 'fourth Go Sanke'.






Because the colours of the Shiro Utsuri are at opposite ends of the spectrum the Shiroji (white ground) is of the utmost importance. As with Go Sanke, if the skin is not white you do not have a good Koi .
