Hi els,
welcome to the forum , out of date treatments can sometimes cause problems but i lead to believe the the treatments from blagdon are very weak and often don't cure the problem.
out of date treatments are normally render unless past the sell buy date, how are your fish behaving ???
if in any doubt do a water change to remove some of the treatment and be sure to have plenty of air going in the pond.
did you get someone to tell you what you are fighting often people [not only newbies] will go to a koi outlet and get pasted off mediocre treatments in which most the time don't work.
without a scrape you will not know what your fighting.
we will help you to solve this problem but if your fish are not happy i would suggest a 10%-20% water change.

hi many thanks. it's a bit of a long story been going on for nearly a week now but we put our fish in a new pond after checking water and all was well then a week later they were all at the top going down occasionally none of them gasping. noticed a bit of white spot on one so went to waterworld who sold us treatment. we have changed about 1/3 of the water twice and added another air pump and stone. there was a lot of white stuff in water, only way to describe it is looked like skin. not happy with the new pump so have added our old one aswell the new one dont seem to have enough suction though the water is flowing fine the debris (this white stuff) dont seem to be being picked up well. New to this but know that water quality is important so will do another test this morning but fish are still floating and its totally sad to see, not gasping still but are obviously in difficulty to be at the top. we are in feltham and after going to waterworld for advise and being sold out of date treatment am not happy to take their advise.dont know if the frothy water is due to so much air with the sones and filter but very sad and sick fish after moving them to the bigger deeper pond they were so happy at first.pond size only 1.2mtres long 0.8 wide and about 1.m deep. thankyou for replying to my post

the white foam stuff could just be from the air and the tds level and protein level within the water to combat this is a lesson in water chemistry. but this is not your first problem you have to tackle the lifeless fish is the first i would say do another water change remove as much of the foam from the water as you can.
what are you amm and nitrite, nitrate and ph levels?

as the day has progressed the bubbles on top are clearing. both the ammonia and nitrite are slightly low but still on the chart. if the blagdon stuff is no good can you suggest anything else for the white spot. mainly the two chagois are affected with this and seem siker than the rest though why the floating around at the top they all seem to do this
