So far as I'm aware , Bamboo seem to be OK ......
I've got lots and lots of the large leaf common bamboo against my perimeter walls
and small leaf Specimen Bamboo dotted about ....
although evergreen ... they DO constantly shed leaves especially when windy ...
and I'm 200 yds from the sea .... so gets quite windy !!!
Bamboo leaves blow in the pond daily .....
and the large common Bamboo overhang my waterfall and stream return ....
no problems in over 4 yrs ... and some get as far as the vortex ! rest in skimmer basket !

I was told by the pond builders / landscapers NOT to put Dwarf Azaleas / Rhododendrons near the pond !
although the ones I wanted were ALL evergreen .... they too shed leaves ... and they said the leaves were the problem !

I have tried various places to find out about the plants I posted above ....
Japanese Garden Society in UK don't know which plants dangerous to Koi ! which surprised me !
Kew Gardens " Do NOT respond to questions like yours ! " which astounded me !!!!!
BBC Gardening website / forum were NO help either !

When I do pond....... I will remove my rhododenderons and put astilbes in their place, as I have one in the corner, they are sort of bog plants, so should be ok by pond, not on list.
