theory as i understand it is that it is not the layer of polythene that is keeping their pond warm! the tunnel is merely a heat drawing bubble in which the thermal air coming off your own pond is then contained in and its this thermal air that insulates your pond, exactly how a string vest works!! allowing the thermal air to circulate inside the tunnel and of course the moment you get any sunshine on the tunnel then that thermal air heats very very quickly, and the rest is self explanatory!!
Obviously the tunnel also keeps the chilling winds off which is the main cause for severe temp drops, just like blowing the surface of your hot cup of tea, if you blow strong it dosn't take long to cool the surface! the same principle.
Delivery was swift thou they say 7-10 days a great service got mine in 5 working days
pretty impressed how solid it is even with the cover on 10/10 for that guys
with night temps dropping quickly i will be taking water temps , air inside and air outside temps just to show how good i think this tunnel works.
i have to go and get a thermometer in the morning thou they say tonight is 7 degs and in the tunnel there is not such a chill so much so its quite noticeable and pond is at 8degs
